SLAUGHTER ON THE DANCEFLOOR!!

Ale1

Ale Fillman

WHOA!! It’s taken me all day today to recover from last night!  Ale Fillman & Prolific really murdered the sound at ESP!!  The music was bangin as soon as  Whisperlink started the show with his uncompromising style.  Prolific came through with some heavy drum & bass riddims and moved seamlessly into a funky set of dubstep stormers, all while rocking the mic and keeping everybody jumping.  Definitely a strong presence from Foul Play Records.  Then Ale Fillman brought some serious heat to the dance with his very first selection, dropping sick, sick tunes full of energy and to massive crowd response.  He was jumping around behind the decks and bangin out mixes.  His set was full of stormers, to say the least.

Pro2

Prolific

Both Prolific and Fillman displayed some wicked off-the-cuff cuts and scratches over heavy hip hop flavored tracks.  The energy was always high, moving between a more grinding style of funk to more excited and aggressive.  A great set of music from both artists, not least to mention the mighty Whisperlink, who alongside Werd2Jah opened the night with a roaring set.

AntiMatter picked up after Ale Fillman, keeping the energy high for the first part of his performance then closing out the night with fatt beats and exclusive dubs from Atlanta producers Trench, Distal, Mayhem, and Section 8.

There was a mixed crowd at Niche for ESP, which is definitely a sign of good health.  There were many new faces than usually seen around town at local dubstep events.  People came from Nashville, Kentucky, and Jacksonville.  And there were plenty of ladies in the house, too.

Big Up to our friends Mayhem, Ployd, Distal, Mite, Zagga, 818, and Jeremy for coming thru and showing us love.  Mad love to the performers for holding it down and ripping it up, and to Werd2Jah & Proppa for keeping the mics hot.

Sit tight for our next session, Atlanta.

SATURDAY, 01 AUGUST, 2009 w/ ALE FILLMAN & PROLIFIC

Our next event is August 01, 2009, featuring Ale Fillman of Dirty Circuit Records, Boulder, Colorado, and Prolific, head of Foul Play Records out of Florida.

Ale Fillman is what some call a mad sound-scientist.  He combines fast-paced mixing and scratching with an onslaught of dubs that will rattle your senses with gritty, glitched-out drum patterns and deep, dark basslines.

Aside from running his successful dubstep label, Dirty Circuit Records (which has released music from the likes of Trillbass, Downlink, and Fragile, to name a few), and producing his own original cuts, Ale co-hosts Dirty Circuit Radio, a popular mix show on Sub.FM where he showcases upcoming filth from various producers in the scene!  We are excited to have Ale at ESP for his first Atlanta appearance!

Whether it’s rocking b-boy jams, ‘tablist parties, microphones, electro/Bmore sets, or an all out dnb or dubstep assault, Prolific is moving the crowd with profound turntable routines, intricate lyrics, and original tracks with a unique flavor.

Prolific

His heavyweight label Foul Play Records has had chart topping joints in multiple genres and his new project NONSTOPKROOKS w/ CoJaxx is one of the freshest indie groups to hit the industry and is setting its stamp with their album Polish Your Skills.  Prolific holds titles in several turntablist and MC battles from all regions of the USA.  Get ready for one of the most talented musicians/entertainers out of Florida to come rock Atlanta with inimitable style.

Local support from Whisperlink of Abstract Logic Recordings and resident DJ antiMatter. You can get mixes from both in our DJ MIXES section.  Hosted by Proppa and Werd2Jah, plus an all-new live visual show by Enexgee.

SUB.TRACTION Tonight!!

DUBSTEP BIZNESS @ EL BAR!!

The time has come, and we are ready!  Fresh from the success that was 2562’s first Atlanta appearance, the promotional force that is known as Atlanta Dubstep is set to flood El Bar tonight with the fattest of beats and the sickest of bass!!  Three local heros will be touching down for this month’s showcase of ATL dub, and the line-up represents the full spectrum of the sound.

Whisperlink

Whisperlink is one-half of the two-man army that is Heavy Machine, who have just released a smokin’, “crispy southern-fried dubstep” EP on Abstract Logic Recordings, featuring 3 tracks of original music, one of which features vocals from Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob fame.

Distal

It must be said that Distal’s sound is deep.  Trippy soundscapes, warm bass, and crystal leads and melodies paint a serene picture of this man’s take on dubstep.  Lately, however, Distal’s direction has been going towards more “gangsta shit”, with harder beats and hip-hop samples.  Whatever the brushes he chooses to paint with, do not miss the abstract audio collage that permeates the club when Distal is in control.

Quad Control

Quad Control is a wicked DJ who has been in the game since day dot, representing the notorious Koncrete Jungle crew from New York to Minneapolis to Atlanta and beyond.  His recent release on Worldwide Transmissions has been making the rounds on many decks this spring, and we at Ghost Industries always have his productions on heavy rotation.  QC knows how to rock the party.
